• Portraits made for Maks

Photos for the Maks! special issue
6,5 billion different humans walk this earth. For some of them this difference is called a disability. Want to try looking with a visual disability? Have a look at www.maks.be with a new pair of eyes. From a hazy look to being blind as a bat.

“I am a hard drive where some of the data has been wiped off”, says Sinan (18). Maks! comes up with a special issue on limitations/disabilities. Sinan talks about his car crash, Anylem speaks about a life full of bombs and Oke tells us about life as an albino.

  • Women after 50

Hilde Masui found 15 known and less known women from over 50 willing to participate in honest talking. They were about 18 years old in the wonderful year of 1968. Theirs was a generation literally born into a new world, with no memories of great wars and perhaps because of that provided with bright clean self-consciousness and the great feeling that a lot was possible and potentially possible.

These women from various backgrounds talk about part of their life during a revolutionary time, about their jobs, their view on people and things. A lively picture of the first female postwar generation with portraits made by Katrijn Van Giel. A surprising gift for everyone who considers herself part of this generation!
